College of Alameda Aviation Campus:

Role: Project Manager with AE3

The project consists of the construction of one new teaching hangar, and the renovation of an existing neighboring teaching hangar to remain. The building programs consists of traditional classroom space, as well as shop space to teach prospective airplane mechanics. The building is also within a 12’ flood design flood zone, requiring a dry flood proofing for the new Hangar Building. To comply with the dry flood proofing requirements, I have led the coordination and review of an erectable dry flood proofing barrier to enclose the building. This erectable flood barrier led to over 5 million in cost savings by allowing for a Matt Slab foundation in lieu of deep pile foundations.

Surrounded by by the Port of Oakland, the project involved complex coordination between The Port of Oakland, DSA, EBMUD, and the PCCD.
